Publisher Marketing: Atop a four-hundred foot tall bluff, Pepin View Manor sits abandoned and neglected, waiting for its new owner to bring it back to life. Unfortunately, there are powerful people who use the property when no one is around, and they have given orders to drive out the newcomers. Tyler Benson and his fifteen-year-old daughter Lucy move to the small town of Mill Valley to restore the Manor built by his great-great-grandfather. They look forward to living in a community that knows little crime, and basks in the laid-back warmth of summer by the lake. It begins with a warning to leave then other incidents, which at first appear as simple mischief, soon become disturbing. With the involvement of the local police chief, and the reassurance from the locals, Tyler decides that it is safe to continue to carve out a place for them at the Manor, determined that no one is going to drive him away. He doesn't realize who he's dealing with, and how far they will go to get him to leave. Does it have anything to do with the FBI's investigation of the homeless people being kidnapped then discarded like garbage after a few months? *** ..". I could not put it down..." ..".
