Wolfville Nights Alfred Henry Lewis Illustrated edition
Wolfville Nights
Alfred Henry Lewis
This is the third of Mr. Lewis's delightful series of works on Wolfville life. This volume deals with the same characters that appeared in his two preceding books, and the scene is laid in the same locality, Wolfville that Lewis almost certainly emulated the real town of Tombstone. In 1903, The Bookman said of Wolfville Nights: "Nothing so fascinating has been written since the early stories of Bret Harte. Humorous to the last degree, with an occasional touch of pathos, and full of quaint philosophy that makes fascinating reading."
