Oliver Conrad, fifteen, lives in a country mansion with his stepfather, stepbrother and mother. Oliver's stepfather secretly commits his mother to a madhouse to steal her estate and pretends she has died. To get Oliver out of the picture, his stepfather arranges a job for him in New York City.
