"The War of 1920" is an alternate-history by Irish-American nationalist Shaemas O'Sheel, detailing a timeline where the Allies of the Great War have invaded the unsuspecting United States of America. With enemies invading from all sides, many Americans are dumbfounded at how such a cataclysmic event could happen. The story is told via the diary of Gustav Bauerfeldt, a war correspondent of the fictional German newspaper Berliner Rundschau. Bauerfeldt describes the events that have befallen the United States, from the various battles to the personalities involved. The book can be seen as a reaction to the growing breaches of neutrality America was seeming to make in 1915.
