Ashtavakra Gita is written as a dialogue between sage Ashtavakra and Janaka, king of the kingdom Mithila. Ashtavakra Gita, is advaitic masterpiece stating the whole truth without duality un-like Bhagawat Gita that was recited much later by Lord Krishna to his charioteer warrior Arjun and which serves varying interpretation for everyone who reads it. Nothing is known about the first author of Ashtavakra Gita, but there are various Sanskrit versions and English translation available with commentary.
