The Diary of an Addict
As the drug goes into my veins, I feel the euphoria. That high I longed for. Now I can talk I can say how I feel, no one can run over me. My heart beats like African drums. No sleep, the high of my mind and thoughts, I am invincible. I want more and more and then; it happens the drop-off as the Earth crumbles under my feet. My high wore off, where did it go. I want more and more, no sleep for days. I can't think, I can't see. My mind is swirling like a whirlpool. I ask why I am doing this. Why do I put myself through this torment? My body is tired, I feel weak. I can't go anywhere I am in prison, what am I doing? Help me, God!
