The Valley of Fear
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
The Valley of Fear is the fourth and final Sherlock Holmes novel written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The book begins with Holmes receiving a message from an agent of Professor Moriarty. The agent then thinks twice of betraying Moriarty and decides to not send Holmes the key to decode the message. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was the British writer who created the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes. Conan Doyle's Holmes stories are still the standard that all detective and mystery fiction is compared to. Doyle also wrote The Lost World, a hugely influential novel that inspired Michael Crichton, the author of Jurassic Park. Doyle still remains one of the most widely read authors in all of literature.
