Contributor Bio: Humphreys, Cathy Cathy Humphreys is a senior lecturer in Health and Social Work at the University of Warwick. She has worked as a practitioner, researcher and educator in domestic violence and child abuse. Catherine's other research areas include substance misuse, mental health, outreach and advocacy services for both women and children, and child contact. Contributor Bio: Parker, Ruth The Mathematics Education Collaborative (MEC) is nationally recognized for its groundbreaking work with parents and the public in communities throughout the US. Under the leadership of Ruth E. Parker and Patty Lofgren, MEC helps schools and districts engage communities in support of quality mathematics instruction.
