Her Toyota crashed; she's all alone and the nearest town is 300 miles away! She used the hand that could move, and with it, lifted the other hand. The sun was going down now, but the crash had happened around noon. How long had it been since? No watch. It was cold, and soon would be much colder. Fall was not very kind in these parts. "I am still alive. Let's pretend it is a survival game," she said, teeth clenched against the pain. "With the help of God, I will make it." She tried to straighten up, but was unable to move. Then she noticed the seatbelt had not released. She tried it again-it was jammed. The effort was too much. She passed out.
