Lily In The Valley invites you into the life of a little girl growing up in a New York neighborhood. At the beginning of her "valley" experiences, she is living with her parents and siblings in sub-human conditions in a small basement apartment in the Bronx. Her parents are separated and she is forced to live in different places and ends up in a foster home. She is molested by two teenaged boys living in the household, and as she travels through the "valley" of her dysfunctional life she becomes a victim of child abuse and neglect. As she approaches young adulthood, her life begins to spiral out of control. She loses herself in addictions to sex, drugs and alcohol to forget her dysfunctional past while dealing with her present state of oppression and depression. After living through many years of physical, emotional and psychological abuse, she meets "The Lily in the Valley" and asks a question. Upon receiving her answer she makes a final request. Her destiny is changed and is sealed forever. Michelle West is an inspired first time author who pursues a ministry in helping single-parent mothers, children, and homeless people. She has earned her Bachelors Degree in Special Education and a Master's Degree in Urban Education: Administration & Supervision. She has attended Yale, Fordham and Princeton Universities and has received numerous certificates in Educational Leadership. Michelle West is a former early childhood and special education teacher. She has served as an Assistant Principal and is presently the Building Administrator for Early Childhood Centers in New Jersey. She is also an evening professor at Northern Baptist School of Religion.
