The Swedish Gypsy is a historical novel se in turn-of-the-century Stockholm. Fredrik, a successful business man hires Lilly to work at his cafe. Realizing she is a gypsy he keeps her on to tell fortunes. He is fascinated with her culture and with Lilly who becomes obsessed with him and pursues him using spells and charms. His cafe suffers as Swedish workers strike, leaving him with no other choice than to risk all to save his business and his family.
