Nine Ninety-nine
Shalom Camenietzki
He was a rebel and an anarchist. He was a diligent student of the Bible. He was a paranoid schizophrenic... Incarcerated for 26 years in a vast psychiatric facility, the narrator of Nine Ninety-Nine hates the hospital with a passion. Each of the hated treatments he receives symbolizes various social and political factors. He views the hospital and all those who attempt to treat him as part of a frightening, malevolent and sadistic outfit. And yet, there is something more waiting for him, something outside of the hospital walls. As his story progresses down unknown paths, he may find something beyond the illness that has debilitated him for so long in the eye-opening journey of Nine Ninety-Nine. Author Shalom Camenietzki was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and attended high school and university in Israel. He studied for a Ph. D. in psychology in the United States. Since 1974, he has lived in Toronto, Canada, where he is in private practice of clinical psychology. He is married and has a son.
