Tired of excuses and spin when it comes to public education and its increasing costs? Want the facts and an inside look at public education? Then, "The Sin of Apathy" is for you. In a sincere, street smart and "real" manner Dr. Ralph P. Kerr, a retired public school administrator identifies many of the "enemies" of public education. The book offers real life stories of how many of the "enemies" of education operate and actually hurt education and our children. Equally important are the practical solutions offered for your educational community and you. Dr. Ralph P. Kerr spent 30 years in public education, the final 18 years as the Superintendent of Schools in three diverse districts across New York State. Earlier in his career Dr. Kerr was a classroom teacher, counselor and building administrator. In these positions he interacted with many school board members who were dedicated public servants and who cared deeply about the educational opportunities offered to all children. He also faced the challenge of working with some school board members who were self-serving, egotistical and not focused on the benefits of education for children. Kerr earned a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Syracuse University, a Masters in Counseling and Bachelors in Business Education from the State University of New York at Brockport. Dr. Kerr currently serves as President of The Teaching and Learning Institute of Houghton, NY. He is also an adjunct faculty member at SUNY Brockport and Houghton College.
