Amigo, a black retriever whose name means "friend" in Spanish, loves having someone rub his tummy and sleeping with his favorite stuffed bear as a pillow. As he drifts off to sleep, he gives a deep sigh and rolls upside down. When he's awake, the dog chases all animals-actually, anything with four legs. His owners don't give him many chances to chase things, so he dreams about them. The problem is he always winds up in trouble. By the story's end, it is hoped that he has learned that chasing animals is not a good idea. Notice Amigo's favorite bear doing something in each of the illustrations. He may be hidden or not! Is the bear real or not? It's up to you to find out.
