Sparkalot & the Red Stone M E Heller

The Brownies find a mysterious red stone in their cave. It is lying in a puddle of blue paint. Learning that it has been dropped there by a couple of rascally goblins who have stolen it from a dragon's treasure pile, they manage to bring it to Earth where Skylar and his best friend Jeff find it and its passenger, a salamander prince, in the fireplace on the Green Mountain. From there the mischief begins, and it is left the Brownies, with the help of an assortment of elementals from other worlds, to bring the misbehaving salamander back to his home in the World of Fire.
