The Monk in Love is an attempt to explore the psyche of the modern, educated youth who have ambitions high and galore, are out of sync with stereotypical thinking and attitudes and set out to explore the existing shackles of society without causing harm to anyone. The protagonists are highly intelligent and spiritual youth who have an evolved sense of understanding and want to lead a simple way of life beyond the existing norms of society. Therefore, this collection of short stories has a strong societal underpinning as well.
