Daniel Bruin felt he had a pretty good handle on how things worked in the world, and who was responsible for its problems, writing for his weekly column in the Minnesota Advocate. Then in 2006 a new managing editor was appointed over him. Disturbing his comfortable existence, Ruth Hawthorne sent him on assignment to interview Robert and Sophia Staples, two controversial authors who challenged conventional belief on the Second Coming. Determined to expose them as frauds, the hardened cynical reporter found himself listening to their incredible story, which caused him to re-examine everything. Later in 2030, sharing his experience with his grandson, and four of his friends, Daniel relates how Robert and Sophia's message acted as the catalyst that led to the Great Awakening, the advent of the FHBs and the phenomenal Shift that changed everything.
