Wolfram von Eschenbach
Parzival is another of the attempts to recreate and finish Chrétien de Troyes's unfinished treatment of the character of Perseval. However, this particular version comes to us from the old German language, written by the knight-poet Wolfram von Eschenbach.
It was written in the 13th century, and is considered one of the greatest versions of the Perseval story ever written, becoming a huge and sprawling epic that cemented the story of the Holy Grail in the public consciousness.
