The novel 'Artist blood' is a story about love and hatred, devotion, a sense of duty, and betrayal. Young promising writer fell in love with a beautiful teenage girl and married her to 'live happily ever after'. However, reality appeared to be very far away from the expected paradise. Both of them pursued different dreams, and as a result, the young couple separated. Still husband and wife, they met again later, when they both became rich and famous, to live first through mutual success and then through tragedy. The novel touches on different topics that are relevant at present time as well: does a woman has the same right to pursue her career as a man does? What is happiness? Are external successes and rewards enough to be happy? Can real talent find its way without a sponsor and publicity? Does the press have the right to intrude into private affairs? Today, we still are trying to find answers for these questions.
