The Legend of Aladin-Or Chali-Ray Terrett

An epic fantasy adventure written for children by children. The story is about a struggle to be king but only those who are accepted by the legendary King Tree can become king. This story was developed by a six-year-old and a four-year-old through their play together. They were using Lego which explains why the focus is on destruction and reconstruction. As the children played and narrated the story they were creating, I simply wrote it down. I asked them to fill in any gaps and where the gaps were not satisfactorily filled, I embellished the story a little bit. The result is an adventure story that emphasises working together to overcome difficult challenges. It also involves a political power struggle and mythological beasts.
