Hazel, who was born on the beautiful Caribbean island of Trinidad, in a small, quaint village called Palo Seco, now lives in Brooklyn, New York. The gift of poetry has always been in Hazel. She wrote her first poem as a very young child, one which she says was a bit unpolished. Hazel later perfected her poetic gift in 2008 when she was given the opportunity to read the weekly announcements at her Church, International Christian Center.
