At age thirty-nine, there was nothing author Donovan J. Rolle Sr. couldn't do physically. It wasn't a question of whether he would finish a competition, it was only a matter of how much time it would take. That changed months before the Spartan Beast when an injury forced him to reflect. In The Heart of a Spartan, he tells how he embraced the challenge and used it as an opportunity for soul searching and self-development.
