International management consultant Dr Michael Loh's first letter to the newspapers was written in 1969 when he was 13. He was encouraged by his father, himself an avid letter writer to the newspapers, to keep on writing. Dr Loh has never stopped but he was most productive in the last couple of years after reducing his working hours to tick items off his bucket list. From July 2016 to June 2018, 35 letters written by Dr Loh were published in The Straits Times, Singapore's most prominent newspaper, with a circulation of 1,400,000 print and digital readers. In 2017 alone, 22 letters were published, making him Singapore's most prolific letter writer to The Straits Times that year. Here's the story behind each letter.
