Sophie Cameron can't seem to catch a break. As she mourns the sudden death of her father, she finds his business deep in debt and on the brink of bankruptcy. Sophie sells her marketing agency in Tampa, moves home to Central Kentucky, and takes on the task of modernizing the outdated amenities at Cameron Stables. Cowboy Zach has secrets, knows more about Sophie than she realizes, and for a range riding cowboy he's very business savvy. He offers to help Sophie with her staffing needs and suggest an odd labor source-young men who have aged out of foster care.

As the attraction between Sophie and Zach steadily builds, events come to light that threaten to derail their relationship for good. Sophie's Scots-Irish stubbornness and her single-minded mission to save her ancestral lands create a wall that will take more than Zach's business savvy to break through.
