Two Australian critters, a kangaroo and a platypus find each other when trying to escape from a fire in Australia. Soo, the kangaroo, is willing to help Li'l Gus, the platypus, but they can't really move quickly enough to escape the danger.

They luckily meet a giant stork from Africa named Bubber Hill, the shoebill, who was residing at the zoo in the town of Ringidingdoo. He helps them escape by scooping them up in his massive beak and soaring high over the flames to safety, where they are happily reunited with their families.
