Joana Hill
Mishima Ryo gets average grades, his parents work too much to pay much attention to him, and a lot of his time is spent convincing other people, as well as himself, that he's completely okay with his lonely life. When he gets back into Senryaku Kirameku Online after almost a year of hiatus, however, he finds himself feeling a little better about himself.
Eventually, Ryo has made friends with some unlikely allies, namely the bard Kaze. The more they play together, the lesways to play beyond just partnering up for missions with girls with pretty avatars, and the more friends he meets, the more he feels at home.
But there's something wrong with SK Online, ever since a surge in the servers that temporarily prevented players from logging out of their VR sets. But it keeps happening as Ryo and Kaze investigate, as well as meet in real life, and soon spending time in the game might not be the escape from reality Ryo was hoping for.
