Publisher Marketing: This book is at once a detailed study of a range of individual filmmakers and an exploration of the modernism in which they are situated. Editor of S"creen in the 1970s", he is the author of books on Pasolini and Antonioni as well as a study of "Rocco and his Brothers" in the BFI Film Classics series.
