Dana Whitney is a square peg in a world full of round holes. Every part of her life is crap, including her tepid romance. Even her sleep is traumatic, filled with nightmares of hard bondage and cruel discipline. In a last effort to save her sanity, she decides to play out her bondage fantasy in real life with her boyfriend. When he rejects her--thinking she's testing his integrity--she throws in the towel and tries unsuccessfully to commit suicide. A reclusive loner saves her, but at a terrible price. He takes her freedom arguing that since he salvaged her abandoned life, he owns it.
