'A Former Person' is a man-on-the-run novel set in 1932; it is the first in a multi-book series feature Prince Dmitri Romanov.

Dmitri is asked by the leader of The Hongmen, a Chinese Triad organised crime gang, to return to Russia and rescue a White Army general who's needed to lead a rebel army gathering in Manchuria. Dmitri agrees, but is pursued across Europe by Bolshevik spies. Once in Russia, he discovers there is much more to the mission than he'd been told.

This is a compelling historical adventure-thriller, following in the great tradition of John Buchan, Eric Ambler, and Geoffrey Household. It's a story of one man's escape set in the underworld of inter-war international espionage.
