Origami Symphony No. 6
John Montroll
Welcome to the world premier of the Sixth Origami Symphony! Structured as a musical symphony in four movements, these fun and challenging movements depict a wide range of origami subjects. From striped snakes, favorite jungle animals and tetrahedra with colorful patterns to a wandering journey deep in the desert, many origami discoveries await.
Contained in this work are 38 original models, each a masterpiece by origami master John Montroll. Each model can be folded from a single square using standard origami paper. For the first movement, several striped snakes are presented as a theme and variation. The jungle animals of second movement present an Elephant, Lion, two Hippos, Rhino, Giraffe and more. Geometric beauty is found in tetrahedra with colorful patterns in the third movement. The fourth movement concludes with desert animals, including a detailed scorpion. All are of varying levels of difficulty.
The four movements are: First Movement: Allegro: Theme and Variation on Snakes. Second Movement: Andante: Frolicking in the Jungle. Third Movement: An Octet of Colorful Tetrahedra with a Trio of Grand Pyramids. Fourth Movement: Allegro: Deep in the Desert.
