Daniel Tobin
Holocaust survivor Paul Celan is widely regarded as the greatest German poet of the latter half of the twentieth century. These forty versions of Celan's poems are brought together from several of his books and are not presented in chronological order. Among Tobin's awards are the "The Discovery/The Nation Award," The Robert Penn Warren Award, the Robert Frost Fellowship, the Katherine Bakeless Nason Prize, and creative writing fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, and the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation. He lives in Arizona.
