At the age of seventeen, Gemma Bromley was involved in a car accident which left her with Traumatic Brain Injury, and half of her skull removed. Brain injury is a type of 'invisible disability', as it often can leave no outward sign after the wounds have healed. Gemma completely lost her identity, and tried very hard to appear 'normal' while learning how to navigate an entirely new way of life at such a young age. In her debut book, Half a Head, Gemma bravely shares her entire experience, from the accident to recovery, offering practical advice and invaluable resources for others who are rebuilding their lives after trauma.
