The Black Reign begins ... The City of Bone's citizens are being hung from the gallows and slaughtered in the streets by the underling menace. In an attempt to deliver a lethal strike Master Sinway, Venir and Melegal put their trust in the mage, Altan Rey, from Castle Kord. Billip abandons the City of Bone so that he can make notify Mood and the dwarves of Venir's plans. The dwarven army is cornered by the underling army at Black Column that is closing in. Billip unites with a host of his old allies, including, Fogle, Slim, Brak and Jubilee. On Mood's order they are told to head back into Bone where they search for Venir and Melegal. Boon seeks an alliance with the dwarves and the hated giants. How will he get it? Georgio and Lefty find themselves in the Mist and encounter a strange enemy that wants to kill them.
