In Remembrance of Me, Bearing Witness to Transgender Tragedy unpacks deep wisdom around themes such as grief, self-care, repentance, and our ancestral traditions. These short meditations provide an entry point for thinking and feeling around themes such as Transgender Day of Remembrance and other tragedies haunting transgender communities. Those working among people of transgender experience are often overwhelmed when they are first confronted with the prevelance of conversations about murder, suicidality, trauma, and death among us. Mainstream American culture does not prepare us to deal well with tragedy, except to avoid it entirely. Yet, death plays a central role in Christian tradition.
