Like the imprint of lipstick on the side of a coffee cup, the Holy Spirit imprints his presence in us. It is like that in the lives of everyone touched by his spirit. It's plainly seen and oh so vibrant. When you don't drink of him, the imprint is missing. God changes us on the inside. His Spirit does far more for us than we can possibly do for ourselves. We can do things such as exercise, eat healthy, wear nice clothing, and even add the finishing touches of a beautiful shade of lipstick to look nice. God is interested in every detail of our lives. He wants us to take care of our bodies. He wants us to be beautiful on the outside, but he's more concerned with the inside. Paul says in 1st Timothy 4:8 (TLB) Bodily exercise is all right, but spiritual exercise is much more important and is a tonic for all you do. So exercise yourself spiritually, and practice being a better Christian because that will help you not only now in this life, but in the next life too. God is concerned about our hearts. He cares about our outer appearance too, but His beauty comes from within. When we seek the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, we will enjoy His benefits. The coffee and lipstick, God allows for us to enjoy also. He wants us to have them in the right order - God first! It's my prayer for everyone reading this daily devotional that you will come to know the Lord more each day. May His Spirit be oh so vibrant in your life and in your presence, may He be seen.
