Bedford, a London businesman has moved to the country for seclusion, but finds himself drawn to his reclusive neighbour, Cavor. Cavor has built a craft he believes capable of traveling to the Moon. With Cavor and Bedford aboard, the craft begins its voyage to the Moon. Cavor and Bedford find that the Moon is a far more alien and dangerous place than they had expected. They also find that it is not uninhabited....
