My mom gave birth to me in 1963-the year that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his historic "I have a dream" speech, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, and Alfred Hitchcock's movie "The Birds" was released in the United States of America. A year and a half later, my mom married my stepdad. Fortunately, he loved me and treated me as if I was his biological daughter; I loved, respected, and called him dad as if he was my biological dad. My mom loved me and took good care of me. She and my stepdad were both nice looking people-made a cute couple; and we were a happy family. There is always someone with a "Rags to Riches" story. It is quite inspiring and interesting how some people start out poor and end up wealthy. Well, I would like to tell you my story. Rai White is a wife, mom, and grandma. This is her Memoir and 6th novel, a "short story" about her life-a happy little girl, who'd gone through so much until at age 18, she wanted to take her life. However, at her lowest point, God stepped in and saved her life, literally. She's the author of Before And After I Do; Real Love Is; Real Love Is (2): The 25th Year; Nigel's Choice, and Japheth Can Count.
