Kiki has never been to the circus and her first visit turns out to be more than she bargained for.

Accompanied by her intrepid friends, she discovers there is more to circus life than meets the eye. When readers draw back the curtain to this colourful tale filled with frolics, funny episodes and selfless acts of bravery, it reveals a second story about rescuing the "elephant mice". This is aimed at helping children understand the plight of animals in the circus. It gently weaves in an awareness that not everything for our amusement at a circus comes by choice.
