A new Idea (Liberal Creativity) shines in this book, Modern Western Fiction and Sanskrit Aesthetics and Theory, bridging the West with the East, exploring a new style in writing, enunciating humanity as one field, and critiquing both Western and Oriental writing. It discusses the stylistic, structural and philosophical approach of Bissundyal¿s novel, A River Dreams Red, comparing it with other works of Western and the Sanskrit tradition. In this process, it announces Bissundyal¿s intention to seek a creative path in knowledge through embodied epistemology, reflection, reading and writing, and to seek a creative centre to find a sanctuary for his artistic pursuits. Churaumanie Bissundyal is a Guyanese American writer who has completed six novels, one nonfiction, five books of poems, three screenplays, and ten plays. In 1988, his play From Ganges to Demerary was staged at Samuell Beckett¿s Theatre, York University, Toronto, Canada. He won the prestigious American award, The Vera Rubin Residency Award, at Yaddo, Saratoga Springs, New York. He holds an MFA degree (a master¿s degree in fine arts) and a Ph. D. degree in interdisciplinary studies.
