Mixed dentition analysis in Indian population

Super Six!! A Step Ahead In Mixed Dentition Prediction. Mixed dentition analyses are bound to be specific for the race it is derived for, hence use of standard regression methods in the local population of India is questionable. This study was designed to achieve more accuracy and precision in the space analysis in mixed dentition by deriving regression equations specific to the race and ethnicity of the population of India. Correlation coefficients were derived between three groups of teeth and the canines and premolars of both the arches. It was found that lower incisors and molars combined was a better predictor for predicting canines and premolars. Therefore six regression equations were derived for both arches for sexes combined and separate. Furthermore, the equations derived were validated and compared with Moyers and Tanaka Johnstons method. It was observed that the equations derived in the present study were more accurate and precise than either of the two methods mentioned.
