The massive growth of Christianity in the global south has continued to engage scholars worldwide. In most scholarly works, this development which has been described as a shift in the center of gravity of world Christianity has been attributed to forces like culture, traditional religious aspirations, and myriads of other socioeconomic factors. But in this work, Dr Degbe clearly argues that at the root of the unprecedented and continues growth of Christianity in Africa is the Bible and its interpretation first and foremost. He challenges older views that ascribed the growth of Christianity in Africa to culture first by showing how the uses of Scripture comes first and the timeless role of Scripture as the interpreter, the judge, and the final arbiter of what continues and discontinues when the African switches from the traditional ways of life to that of the Bible. This is part of the new thinking in re-interpreting Christianity in Africa. It is 'a must-know fact' for all who are interested in what is happening in Africa and Christianity in Africa as a whole.
