Perhaps the most effective thing that can be done to promote multicultural understanding is to use the new technologies -- with their powerful capacity for shaping and delivering human interchange -- as virtual bridges across the vast distances separating cultures. However, if the information revolution is to fulfill its promise, these bridges must carry information that truly enriches and enlightens humanity.
