Contributor Bio:  Smith, Michael J Michael J. Smith, DSW, is Professor at the Hunter College School of Social Work in New York City. He has specialized in social work research throughout his career. He teaches research in the Masters and the Doctoral Program at the Hunter College School of Social Work. He also teaches a course in program evaluation in the Health Advocacy Program at Sarah Lawrence College. Dr. Smith has published in the areas of program evaluation, family care of the developmentally disabled, mental health, child welfare and youth programs, single-parent family, and family care of the elderly. He has been employed as a researcher at the Community Service Society of New York and the Child Welfare League of America. He has been a research consultant to many social welfare agencies in New York City. Contributor Bio:  Salvendy, Gavriel GAVRIEL SALVENDY is Professor of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University and Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University, Beijing, P. R. of China. He is the author or coauthor of more than 430 research publications, including over 230 journal papers, and is the author or editor of twenty-eight books. He is the founding editor of the International Journal on Human-Computer Interaction and Human Factors and Ergonomics in Manufacturing. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and is a recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
