This study investigated the obstacles that a translator was faced with when translating Culture-Bound Terms in film subtitles and identified the suitable procedures that the translator used for the translation of such terms. The data of this research was the CBTs in the English version of the film "Scent of a Woman" and its Persian rendering in the subtitle. The CBTs were categorized based on Newmark's model and then the used procedures for each category was also investigated to see which procedure was the most common and which one was the least. The translation procedures the translator used are also identified based on Newmark's model (1988).
