This book reports the findings of a project that sought to discover the specific language learning strategies most frequently employed by the Bangladeshi EFL learners. The study, in addition, investigated the role of gender, proficiency level and study major on the employment of overall and individual language learning strategies. It was found that metacognitive strategy was the most frequently used one by the respondents. Strategy use did not differ due to gender and proficiency, though it did in case of study major. These findings might be helpful for the EFL professionals to devise proper teaching techniques for EFL learners in non-native settings. Moreover, the revealed knowledge can indicate to the need of strategy instruction EFL learners by the instructors.
