The primary objective of this research is to classify some of the Victorian LGAs of Stonnington, Casey and Dandenong, based on their demographic variables. The secondary objective is to develop an understanding of the relationships among various demographic variables. The Census of Housing and Population is a national census conducted every five years by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The ABS provides demographic variables to the public. Using the data from the Census as the basis, the three LGAs of Stonnington, Casey and Dandenong were compared. The relationships among the demographic variables have been analyzed using the technique of correlation analysis. The results indicate that Stonnington is classified as high socio-economic LGA; Casey as medium of socio-economic LGA and Dandenong as low of socio-economic LGA. It has also been found that demographic variables of education, income, nature of occupation, industry of employment and labor force are interrelated. Based on the analysis of the graph in Fig4.1, each LGA has socio-economic lifestyle and entity. And a person is free to choose where to live bounded by affordability and social networks proximity to their family.
