Today, concrete is the greatest man-made product on earth. In fact, its usage signifies the development of a nation. However, while in service concrete in its normal form suffers persistent shortcomings which inevitably affects both its mechanical and durability properties. In order to protect concrete against loosing its major qualities while in service, poymers are intruduced as modifiers and elastomeric substances are the most widely used. Unlike sythetic latexes, natural rubber latex is a renewable resource thus eco-friendly, and its application into concrete and mortar is simple, effective and comparatively cheaper. Since NRL is naturally found, and there are no sophistications in its preparations and applications, it is therefore viewed as a suitable alternative for cocrete and mortar modifications.
