In Vitro Pollen Germination and Storage of Crinum Asiaticum L.: Pollen Physiology
Archana Mankad
Initial studies on pollen physiology were confined to some aspects of in vitro germination. Knowledge of the biology of Pollen is essential for Understanding the basic aspects of reproduction and Understanding the applied aspects of seed production. Stored pollen can be used for pollen culture, pollen bank, as a subject for manipulation like DNA transformation and haploid production. Present study considering the main objective of storage, viability and standardization of germination media and staining pollen tubes, Crinum asiaticum L. is an important medicinal and ornamental plant of India.
