The thesis is a Historical and Philological Analysis of the Chronicles of Emperor Gälawdewos (1540-1559). It describes and analyzes the four texts: BAE, CAC, KAG, and MST. The first one referred to as the BAE was edited by M. Rene Basset in the 19th century. The second one as CAC of the chronicles of Gälawdewos was copied from a MS by William Conzelman. It was edited in the 19th century. The third text is the KAG, which is edited by Menfred Kropp at the end of the 20th century. The fourth text is a MS of Tarikä Nägäst. This MS is believed to have been written in the early 19th century.
