Cost effective manufacturing has become a necessity to stay competitive. Shorter lead times, shorter innovation times and reduced inventories have led to increasing demand on a company's preparedness, adaptability and versatility. The role that effective maintenance plays in cost effective manufacturing has received a greater attention. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is the latest maintenance philosophy that integrates all the departments and people in the factory and promotes preventive maintenance through autonomous small group activities. This Book focused on the case study of Indian Automotive manufacturing company. Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of 45 critical machines have been calculated before and after TPM implementation. Trends of plant production, accident rate, maintenance cost, breakdown, defect and rework have been plotted. It was evidenced in by significant improvement in all the parameters.
